Where PET-CT is available

- Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, Birtamode, Jhapa (eastern Nepal, outside Kathmandu Valley)
All three run FDG PET-CT only, according to a 05/2026 review in the World Journal of Nuclear Medicine. Nepal has no medical cyclotron and imports its radioactive tracers, which can affect scheduling. Book well ahead and confirm the date before you fly.

Preparation
You usually fast for about six hours and avoid hard exercise for a day before. After the tracer injection you rest quietly for about an hour before the scan, so allow two to three hours in total. People with diabetes need specific instructions from the centre.
