About MRI Scan Kathmandu

An independent guide to diagnostic scans in Kathmandu, written for people who live abroad and want to know what a scan costs, where to have it and how to plan the trip.

What we do

We collect published rate lists from hospitals and diagnostic centres in Kathmandu Valley and turn them into clear averages for each test. Every price on this site links to the rate list it came from, with the date we checked it.

We also write practical guides for overseas patients: whether you need a referral, how long reports take, how to bring your images home, and what to plan for the journey.

What we are not

We are not a hospital, a diagnostic centre or a medical practice. We do not carry out scans, read images or give medical advice. Your own doctor and the radiologist at the centre are the right people to decide which scan you need.

How we keep prices accurate

• We only use prices published by the centre itself, or by a named source we link to.
• Averages are worked out from those published prices, and we show the lowest and highest so you can see the spread.
• Prices were last reviewed in 10/2026. Centres change prices, so always confirm before you travel.
• Hospitals and labs can send us their latest rate list through the form for hospitals and labs, and we will check and update it.

We are agreeing terms with partner centres in Kathmandu. Once these are in place you will be able to request a booking here and receive a voucher for 10% off at those partner centres. Other hospitals on this site are listed for information only and charge their normal prices. Until then, every price on this site is the centre's own published price.
