What changes the price of a CT scan

Plain or contrast. Contrast (CECT) costs more and may need fasting and a kidney blood test.
Area covered. A head scan is the cheapest; chest plus abdomen or trauma series cost the most.
Angiography. CT angiography of the brain, lungs or heart costs two to four times a plain head scan.
Hospital type. A 06/2026 report put CT at about NPR 2,500 to 6,000 at Bir Hospital against about NPR 5,000 to 16,000 at private hospitals (Ratopati).
